Texas Eggfest 2014 Was a HUGE SUCCESS
Wow! Over 1000 cooks, vendors, teachers, support and “general taste testers” attended, eclipsing last year by more than 300! Camp Ben McCulloch was outstanding - The cooks could back their vehicles to within steps of the tents, the festival was roomy but close, the band/beverage area was great (the beer line was toooo long), the Eggfest University pavillion was spectacular… As one of our “Seasoned Eggheads” said, “it was as if it was made for an Eggfest”.
Texas Eggfest University was extremely well attended (Aaron Franklin’s class had over 300 folks alone). I want to thank all the presenters for taking time out of their busy schedules to be with us. It was humbling to have such a great line up.
We generated $11,000 for Randy Cubriels Man of the Year Campaign with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society!
Congratulations go out to the cook teams “Just the Tip”, “Eggobsessed & No Joke Smoke” and “Flying Pigs” who came in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd respectfully in the crowd favorite competition. Way to go! Congrats also goes out to Jeannette Cardenas for having the winning raffle ticket for the Large Egg Package. Happy Egg’n Jeannette!
I can’t thank all the cooks enough. You folks really outdid yourself with an estimated 20,000 samples served! You did it with style and a focus on fun and learning. Thank you so much. Also, many thanks to Fog & Bone & The Lost Pines (the band), all the folks at Paragon Distributing, the folks with Camp Ben, my folks & family with BBQ Outfitters … Great job everybody! More info to follow about next year… Also, stay tuned for postings of some of the recipes from both the teams and presenters...
