Our Take on the Big Green Egg . . . It's a grill, it's a smoker, it's an oven! We started BBQ Outfitters in 1998 originally just to sell the Big Green Egg.

The Egg is the best Kamado style cooker you can buy and don't let anyone tell you otherwise! Many on-line stores will 'bash' the Egg since Big Green Egg does not allow internet sales - do not fall into their trap. GET AN EGG.

BBQ Outfitters is the largest Big Green Egg store in Texas. No one has our selection and know-how. We cook on the Egg every Saturday and help customers get the most from their Big Green Egg.

Big Green Egg Components

Dual function metal vent cap - By adjusting the openings in the vent cap you can adjust the cooking temperature from 200 degrees to 700 degrees. Close it completely to "snuff" out the fire and preserve the rest of your charcoal for next time.

Temperature Gauge - easily allows you to check the internal temperature.

Cooking Grid - Every BGE comes with a porcelain coated cooking grid. You can upgrade to a cast iron cooking grid, griddle or half griddle/half grid. There are also option grid extenders when you want to cook for bigger groups.

Fire Ring - spaces the cooking grid the appropriate distance from the coals.

Fire Box - holds the charcoal. One load of charcoal in a large BGE will last approximately 10 hours at 200 degrees.

Grate - covers the bottom of the fire box and is perforated for maximum air flow from the lower vent to the vent cap.

Draft Door - adjust the opening of the draft door like the vent cap to reach the desired cooking temperature. Also opens fully to remove the charcoal ash.
