Wow! Texas Eggfest 2012 is over and what a fest. We had 50 brand new Large and XL Big Green Eggs cooking, we had nearly 60 cooks, we ran out of 500 name tags before 1:00, we think we had about 600 total folks at the festival, we loaded every Egg into a vehicle and were completely done by 5:00. That%u2019s what I call a power festival!

A huge thank you goes out to all the incredible cooks, Ed and Tom for running Texas Eggfest University, Ben Starr of Master Chef and Maggie for all their cooking and teaching, the University of Texas Steel Drum Band was amazing, Miss Jelly Been was awesome, the folks at the Iguana were first class, Chris at Paragon did all the cooking for the Meet and Greet and did outstanding work all weekend, and last but not least, my staff worked tirelessly. All the cook teams produced a ton of great food, but I want to especially thank Mark and Amy, Larry and Tina, Steve, and Nick for ensuring folks got an extra belly full. I also want to thank Paul and Mickey of BBQ Outfitters Southlake.

Congrats to Bill Hickey for winning the Raffle Large Egg in the Wood Cart. Congrats also goes out to the cook team %u201CTexas Heat%u201D for winning the crowd favorite and the Mini Big Green Egg.

As always, we%u2019re going to take stock in what was great and what needs improvement to ensure the Texas Eggfest is one of the premier Eggfests in the country. Thank you to all who came and supported the 2012 Texas Eggfest. See ya next year!!!
